Who We Are
Augusta Sash & Door Company was founded in January 1955 through a partnership between W.B. Badger, G.W. Taylor, and A.D. Kidman. The original location was on Ada Ramp Walden Drive in Augusta, Georgia. After four successful years, the company was officially incorporated on July 24, 1959. From the beginning, Augusta Sash & Door specialized in the manufacturing, assembly, processing, and sales of a wide range of construction products, including windows, doors, moulding, cabinets, and millwork.
In 1962, the company initiated its first major expansion with the purchase of property on Wilkinson Road in Augusta. New facilities, including a truss and wall panel plant, door shop, office, and warehouse, were constructed at this location. Under the leadership of Mr. Taylor and Bill Warlick, who joined in 1961 from Howard Lumber Company, the company firmly established itself in the homebuilding and construction industry.
By 1975, Mr. Taylor and Mr. Warlick became sole owners and steered the company with a strong commitment to community involvement, contributing to youth, civic, and church activities. The company has been an active member of the Construction Suppliers Association, with Mr. Warlick serving as a director and trustee.
On August 1, 2000, ownership transitioned to W.J. (Billy) Badger, aligning Augusta Sash & Door with Howard Lumber Company. Today, the company operates as Augusta Sash & Door Sales of Georgia, Inc. Our manufacturing, shipping, and warehouse operations remain on Wilkinson Road, while our sales office and showroom are located at Howard Lumber Company on Columbia Industrial Boulevard in Evans, Georgia.
